i don't think you really did miss out, as i said ,he was selling it cos he wasn't happy with its tone anyway, and i thought it may be a good opportunity for you to at least try one out. i mean it looked good on paper, all tube, tube rectifier etc, but there's little point in getting an amp cheap if it's not the sound you really want, and if your Vicky is anything like my Vibro, it smokes the DRRI dead. I think you took your time and paid a favourable price for a well considered choice that you won't regret. 8)

is it open back, semi open back, or closed?
this one's special, this is the ultimate, after this i'll never need another amp, EVER...Image

Well done BB, that is one beautiful amp. I have those Jensens in my 2x10 bin (pics posted on here somehwere) - they do mellow and they do sound amazing... Was thinking about upgrading my Sovtek red "ON" lamp for a blue one...can you recommend any particluar one that works best with LE34's...want the lamp to bring out the best in my tone...

I've posted some more photos, but they're quite large so go here to check them out if you're interested. I've discovered that brown is very hard to photograph - I haven't had a chance to take shots in natural light, which would help, so it looks a bit yellow in some shots. Check them out if you're interested in AMP PORN! 8)

stark, it is open-back. I think the solid wood cabinet really contributes to the tight bass.

Unique, blue has the mojo - get a blue light and your tone will improve ten-fold, your playing ability at least that much, and you'll become a star overnight*.

Just took it too a jam, and it sounds incredible. Despite being only 20W, this little sucker is plenty loud. Only needed the volume on about one third, and that was plenty to get over a drummer, bass, and 10+ guitarists. Absolutely beautiful tone, I'm on a real high after that :D

i think the P10Rs a pretty efficient, more so than the Eminences i took out of my amp, so it's louder than it used to be. spkr efficiency is something that i think is often overlooked in determining volume.

Hey BB that looks like a real good amp and $3500 ain't a lot of $ when you consider a lifetime of use. Congrats and I look forward to a sound clip when you can do it.
I don't want to influence you,but get a good Les Paul Historic to go with it
Doin' that scrapyard thing.

Les Paul! My guitar already does everything a LP can do, and more 8) What I really need is a Suhr strat, but at US$3000 each, that might be a while away yet ;)

The Bluesbird is not to be underestimated :)
