You know me too well. I’d love a Larri L03. However currently I’m leaning towards something a fair bit older. I find new guitars a bit soulless after my Hilo and Lowden.

I understand that totally! The musicplanet 'wall of Larrivee' awaits you though should you change your mind! Always a deal to be had. I sold my Larrivee but it complimented the Hilo nicely when I had both in my possession. Both great instruments.

Sadly, if I was to do that it would buy me an average acoustic and an average amp. I’d rather have a killer acoustic and hire/borrow amps for the occasional cover gig.

you must be determining 'average' by days away from the shop criteria surely. buying used, the new option would be had at a fraction of the cost leaving some left over for other stuff. your dosh though. want new, buy new. the whole lot on a used acoustic could get you something extra nice perhaps. some people, just like buying new though, like my dad insists nothing like a new car.

That looks like a great guitar and an excellent price. But that would be all (and more) of my budget. To buy an amp and an acoustic would mean I was spending $650 isn on each, and you’ll struggle to really good acoustic guitar or amp.

I’ll almost surely be buying second hand, unless I go for a Larrivee.

slave the kids washing all the local's cars. whatever it takes to get the Martin (lolz). i doubt it will come down much in price before it sells though. i would be looking at yahama too for acoustic. i've played some nice ones and think they are really underrated.

Just bought an acoustic that retailed for over $2000 new, for $499 used on trademe. It's awesome.
