Hi, noob signing in here, it's great listening through the recordings and hearing all the awesome talent. "I'm not worthy" x2 hehe.
Still really just learning bass and guitar off Utube, a few books and hacking Midi files . After searching for power chord tutorials I recorded this on my old Boss Micro BR. 3 git tracks, 1 bass track, onboard digital effects and a limited number of drum loops. Also a couple of tweeks from Audacity.
Hope you like cheese hehe.

Re: Post your tracks, recordings etc.
Thanks guys, we're enjoying it so far.
It's a hell of a lot of fun. We did those 2 tracks (and another) at Itchycoo Park in West Auckland. I'm terrible with names, I should talk to the guys at rehearsal and find out who we had mixing & mastering. It's mostly live with a couple of overdubs.

Trippy, I think you're on to something. Would be interesting to hear a version with the effects dialed back for the verses and full on in like in a the lead solo, bridge or chorus... like a light and shade idea.

Dug this out of the crypt...a rehearsal tape (yes; an actual cassette tape ) from a night when the electrons seemed particularly playful.
A storm in a teacup to set the gear, set the levels, set the mood and settle in. I hope you enjoy.

Had another listen and to the Durutti Column also, see what you're going for. Some pretty cool stuff. I think I liked the parts with the chorus off better, chorus effects can sometimes sound a bit muddy to me but that's just my taste though.el byrdo wrote:Chupacabra wrote: Yeah... I do turn the chorus off for one bit. It's quite a contrast... obviously i'm trying to channel Vinnie Reilly/The durutti column with this one. ANy time I hear people playing in time with delay that's what it makes me think of.
Liked how the Durutti Column was mixing up some classical, flamenco, 80's pop and some funky bass. Health food for your ears.
Mucking around with effect rates is a hoot. Tried using tremelo rates as a chopper effect in some ZZTop style while matching the BPM. Sounded kind of good.

There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.
