Re: Telecaster Custom Build
I just don't know why it looks so dark in all the shots where I'm further away. Weird.
Anyway, done burgers.I'm very happy with the colour and blend of the burst.
I changed these steel saddles out for brass...muuuuch nicer. Sounds great. Neck is bigger than planned, but that's fine by me. I'm very impressed with the Twisted Tele bridge pickup. Most excellent. The neck one...it's good, but needs more bite. Might raise it a little more.
As an aside, I used a newer CRL switch for the controls and it has an inverse arrangement to what is normal. So, one needs to decode the wiring...and it's not like an original. I'll post something later to help others in the same predicament I was in...that is, no in between sound.
Tadaaa.

Hmmm, now, light to medium. The nitro is begging to crack and it's super thin...won't take much. I'll play it through the remaining summer gigs and winter and see where we get to.AiRdAd wrote:Looks great, are you still thinking heavy relic?
I might change down to 9-46 strings. The 10-52's on this seem so hard to my delicate office toned fingers.

Agreed, I liked the Ernie Ball Super Top Reg Bottom on my Tele. 9-46 is a good compromise.GrantB wrote:I might change down to 9-46 strings. The 10-52's on this seem so hard to my delicate office toned fingers.AiRdAd wrote:Looks great, are you still thinking heavy relic?

Re: Telecaster Custom Build
I know what you mean. When I did those bodies in nitro a few years ago, I'd planned to do at least one relic - but after all of the effort to do them - and considering how well they came out - it seemed a shame to relic themGrantB wrote:Hmmm, now, light to medium. Once you fit the Bigsby, you will find those 10-52s more manageable, Grant!StrummersOfThunder wrote:11-49 allll day.GrantB wrote:Hmmm, now, light to medium. Man, that looks amazing. Really impressive.
I loved the Twisted Tele pickup that was in my 2014 US Tele, be right keen for another one.
