and these were bolt together ones...bodies came from Airdad (thanks Danny...one of the real GC's on this forum)
No idea what the orange body is but it is horribly lightweight .... but is amazingly resonant. Sounds frikken awesome

Would not be sufficiently dry yet right? And I see it has some spalting going on...

It is super light now so I think its pretty dry.....yeah a little spalting (not sure why though as the trees were very healthy when I chopped them)...wait until you see the next one I put up. I cut down some silver birch and that has some great spalting on it..sounds great to

only bolted it together a few days ago so still need to level out the pick ups and get the neck angle right

just checked my emails and it looks like a cut the alders down april last year, so 12mths of drying should be plenty

That teaser photo looks cool. Not sure what the black bits are. Did you feed the tree ink just before cutting it?

the black bits are dye ... the top bit of wood was very plain (back is better but I had already glued it before sanding so it looked plain) so I added "colour" to make it look more rustic
