If you refer to the one I am building... I traced my 6120 and made it a double cut. It is fully hollow but solidly built, ie, thickness of top varies from 6 to 8mm.Dano_NZ wrote:
Agree with the Orange or 'Western Orange' vibe. The guitar looks like a semi-hollow Round-up.

Not in my experience. Completely neutral.jvpp wrote: I think Tru oil provides a yellowish glow?
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Oh well, flag the Tru oil then. May still use it on the neck though since BG is raving about that

Seconded. You will have a smug, self satisfied feeling for ever if you do. And a brilliant feeling neck.jvpp wrote:Oh well, flag the Tru oil then. May still use it on the neck though since BG is raving about that

I am so in need of "smug, self satisfied feeling"... which I am definetely not getting by leaving for work at 06:45 am today and getting back home at 19:15 pm. Going at this rate that guitar will be finished in 2020 or so.Slowy wrote:Seconded. You will have a smug, self satisfied feeling for ever if you do. Re: I have been playing with colours
My food colour stained & water base clear coated tele is in it's 8th year and looking great, the yellow a little more mellow.
I used acrylic water base clear after seeing how indestructible it was on the kitchen bench top. Must re-do the peeling polyurethane on the window sills with it.

Good to hear that. What brand acrylic clear? Any pics you posted in the past or can post now of the Tele?calling card wrote:My food colour stained & water base clear coated tele is in it's 8th year and looking great, the yellow a little more mellow.

Re: I have been playing with colours
Wattyl brand from memory, will have a look at the can as I've still got it in the cupboard. It's a brush on type, I'm sorely tempted to load up the spray gun & try it. Does brush on very smooth.
I played the tele last night and took a pic in the dimly lit area as the 5E3 was warming up... on standby , left the camera at home today though.
