Any chance of having it ready to show at the Tronfest?
Sadly I am working again which leaves little time for hobbies. Still need to complete the neck... with ebony fretboard, fretting, shaping, etc.

I'll aim for the next Auckland gear fest.
if you are coming, it would be great to see it - even if it isn't finished.

Kudos dude. This is challenging stuff and I know how hard this is, Well Done. I haven't been brave enough to tackle a full jazz box yet. Brave!

If her indoors lets me I intend to shoot over. And if I do, I can certainly bring it but I am trying to avoid more ad hoc relicing :sarc:

Brave or stupid? Thanks anyway. I don't know what the definition of a jazz box is... but I don't think this one can be called a 'jazz box' as the back is 10mm thick, the top varies from 4-8 mm thick and the sides are about 12mm thick. All solid wood, no plywood anywhere.

But yeah, it's hard going. This was going to be a prototype but with the hours spent on it, I may as well make it the best I can.

Is it getting knocked around because you've only coloured it and haven't put the final finish on it yet?

I'm thinking September to get some space between the ham north island one. So you're quite welcome to start organising :P
It could be time for another gig fest even.

One neck is nearing completion after lots of shaping, cursing and sanding...

Look at that 6" tenon! Bigger than your willie :sarc:

The above shaping only took place AFTER i had tried out the neck pocket fitting process....

Another 'naked lady' - Final coats on, probably do a bit more buffing before she gets dressed. Looks like a Gretsch copy if you ask me

Although I think Gretsch did not use dot markers....
