1x12 for the new rig!
I recently acquired a Quilter 101 mini head (thanks, KNNZ!) and an Eminence Lil' Texas neo speaker (thanks, Strummers via Bender!), so the next logical step was to get out the saw and chisels and build a home for the speaker.
Some of the dovetails aren't quite up to Bg-level quality, but it didn't turn out too badly. I think it's quite fetching with the oxblood grille cloth.
The cabinet with speaker weighs in at just a bit over 8kg and the head is less than 1kg, so the whole thing is very lightweight, quite powerful, and it sounds pretty great too!
Sadly, I think this little project has made the old Deville (http://www.nzguitars.com/forum/viewtopi ... 41&t=36283) redundant... let me know if anyone in the Auckland area has any interest in that.

Looks damn good to me, and I've only shown the best ones, some of my dovetails have been appalling!
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Yeah, I was very impressed. It does the Fender blackface thing really well. And I'm even more impressed now that I can hear it through a decent quality speaker!Zaulkin wrote:Nice! Those Quilter heads are really awesome.

That macrocarpa timber looks lovely. Does it still generate that lovely smell?
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

Thanks, Sean... yeah, it smells awesome! And I'm guessing that's not going to change anytime soon... years later, the Macro archtop still pumps out beautiful scents (if not tunes) every time I play it.jvpp wrote:That macrocarpa timber looks lovely. Does it still generate that lovely smell?
