Just be careful where you get your tweed from - a few places sell tweed tolex which isn't the same as proper tweed. This is from mojotone, and delivery was more than the actual tweed, but it was worth it. I bought enough to do at least another 3 or 4 cabs etc. So, if you're after something in tweed, suits you sir!

This one's for Mike and I'm reet chuffed with how its coming along ;)
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

on the first pic, with the V 's in the corners - I like the vertical tweed on the right one, and was thinking about horizontal on the left... does that make sense? I can do a pic...

I'm using a water based contact adhesive - selleys. Works great with Tweed, not as brilliant on tolex for some weird reason.

My 5E3 has Mojotone burgundy snakeskin tolex, glued seams keep lifting. PVA lifts again eventually, in a rush pre xmas gig & super glued it, cardboard & weight on top. Rip the cardboard away leaving crusty brown lumps. Hurriedly rubbed it almost away with window cleaner. Character marks...

By the time its dried out for glueing, there is no water left. It works well on tolex but its fantastic with tweed!

Getting into the closing stages. I'm happy with the amber result, slight stain then bullseye clear shellac :)

I'd planned to do that to mine when I had one :) Just to confuse one and all ;)
Though a JCM800 in tweed may be a better mindfuck :D

I've not been lazy today, just haven't taken many photos.

Mikes tweed deluxe now has a baffle, as its a commission I got the router out and did the cut out nicely - he's dropping off the chassis and speaker tomorrow so I can do a final fit. Best to make sure everything lines up :D I'll take a template off the Jensen (the 12"s they do have two different PCD's which is somewhat annoying.) Then I'll do the final drill and staple the cloth onto the baffle.

It now has a top back panel and the shellac coats are finished. I tidied up all the joins in the tweed too.

Bens reverb cab now has another baffle covering as I managed to melt the first in one spot, with the heat gun when tightening it. Damn it - I reckon a wet tea towel over the grille cloth then heat gun may be a safety blanket - I'll do some testing. 2nd one is perfect.

My Ampeg svt 200 is now out of its stupidly heavy shell (pics taken) and I will fit it into a 12mm ply, finger jointed shell. I have ampeg tolex too. The Power TX on this is HUGE.

Started cutting out 18mm ply for a Mesa style 2x12 cab. Looking forward to the end result of this!
