so are you going to put it in the same chassis? that would be a sweet little unit!

That's the plan. The chassis I've got isn't quite deep enough though, so I need to find a replacement first.

Do it!

I've run out of time today but I'm aiming to get some clips recorded soon.

And done! Just waiting on feet and a handle.

Sanding on the ends was a bit of a bitch so the finish isn't the best, plus the back panel was a pretty manky old piece of scrap ply. It's a bit shite, but who really cares what the back looks like?

I had a cunning plan for the logo involving Emblems NZ, but then had a brainwave to use the sticker that came with the kit as a logo badge. Cheaper and actually looks pretty awesome:

Yep thats the ticket, an enviable piece of surf guitar kit.
There's a reason these kits have a massive following amongst the surf guitar guys overseas.

I'm in a bit of a surf bend at the moment, decided to dip in my toes by building one of these units (all puns intended). Bender, where did you get that PSU from?

I can't actually remember TBH...

But I'm fairly certain I have a spare. Will dig around when I get home tonight.

Oh, and the choice of reverb tank has a MASSIVE effect on the tone. Far more than I had expected. Point is- if it doesn't sound good off the bat, try a different tank. This has become my #1 reverb over my Fender '63 Reverb Reissue.
