That time when I had serial 1 1001

Post by GrantB »

Some time back I was surfing for V's...as one does...and this guitar refreshed in my feed as I refreshed the page.

I was looking for something to fill the "V"oid. This was it. Early-ish Custom Shop in terms of the concept ('90), but the first proper designed V from them (one prototype existed), excluding the wood choice. A piece if history. Not cheap.

More to come in the story.

How cool is it though!

Early Classic 57's, and no need to ever replace them. Great sounding. Punchy (unlike today's), clear, touch sensitive.

A fat neck that was essentially the same depth all the way up. Initially strange, and then, very comfortable.

The Korinacaster's neck is 25mm deep all the way along. Supremely comfortable when you get used to it.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Long story short - it was borked, got a refund, check your tomatoes, and worry less about things and more about your family.

Gibson QA is a bit of a worry when it's plausible that the untidy routing/fix was done at the factory.
