nah he would have tried to sell him a PA system ;) an encyclopedia is a bit too on point...
I can see it now, "Wanted 5W tube amp under $400" ... "Hey I have a 4000W PA you could have for $17,000!"

I can draw a circuit in 10 minutes if someone brings me a 4/12

Done it! Got heaps of photos and drawing it 'professionally' now in Digikey Schematic. Hopefully you can answer a few questions i have. Hope to post things soon.
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

Here is my 5/25. Far too many watts for me, was last used at an NZG jam over a decade ago, it ran on 10 for a few hours without catching fire and sounded rather nice. Since then its been revalved with tubes i was kindly given by Paul from vintageaudiovalves. I think the biasing might be iffy - standard 6l6s red plate as soon as it warms up, 6l6GC's run fine.

I really should replace all the wet caps and CC resisters, it would be a good project - but now im digital my "amp" is my old studio monitors - Behringer 2030A's
 Mids so haunting that demons took over my living room and now my guitar glows!
