Ones a new guitar day and the other is an old mainstay.
Onto the new arrival first:
I recently went and bought this beauty from Opsguy after wanting another to go with my '65
She's a 62' Gibson SG Special which I'm sure a few of you have already seen and met.
Now the 65' I've had for a while and is currently on its 3rd set of frets, she's seen a hard life and has been a beater of mine for years, even after a headstock repair and neck reset it's still a cracker!
And here's the rest of the family

Very cool. 335 looks familiar. Did you buy that from me?

The pickups are late 50's...which are essentially identical to '62's.

For what it is worth... I put a 64 SG Special on $1 reserve a few months ago after trying to sell at a fair price for ages. It went for $2250.
Like yours, mine was refinished. It had a narrow nut, but did have original pickups. Anyway, good luck - hope you get a better deal than I did!

If your trying to raise the cash for my Ibanez JS then I would probably just do a straight swap if you twist my arm

How skinny are the necks on the 62 and 65?

The necks are close to a 60s Gibson profile however the 65 is slightly chunkier than the 62

One would be hard pressed to buy a refinished vintage SG in the States for this sort of money. It's a good deal!

Thanks Grant, as you know the 62 is a belter.
