Wellington Gearfest - 10th March 2013
As you all probably know, soon I'm going to up sticks and move to that big smoke you called Auckland (or various other derogatory names). It'd be cool to have a Gearfest with you Wellington cats one last time before I leave. How about it? I've also gone through a bunch of gear since last we met, so there'll be some cool new toys to look at.
Suggestions for venue and timing welcome. Have put up a few prospective dates.
Edit:
Now confirmed for March 10th, at the Cuba Street Whiti campus building after 1.00pm. Much thanks to Lawrence for the venue and everyone else for helping to move this along.

I'm really keen too. I've been playing more and more electric guitar lately so I'm suddenly much more interested in whatever amps will be there.
So when are you leaving, Ed? Perhaps it would make more sense to work around that?

Sigh, don't even get me started. HR is taking forever to push things through, and it keeps getting pushed back. Honest answer is I don't know, and if they don't end up sorting their shit out in the next month I'm basically just going to quit and move anyway.Vince wrote:I'm really keen too. Ok then... could you put me down for "any date is ok"? We don't really have that option right now.slash-ed wrote: Sigh, don't even get me started. i'll be keen if i can get some funds by then to come down
Hurdy Gurdy.... some how... and I'm not entirely certain how mind you, an instrument that sounds like someone has shoved a nest of angry hornets into a goose with a kazoo bill and is randomly slapping the poor creature with an accordion.... Sounds amazing.

Re: Wellington Gearfest - Feb 2013
I'd be keen for a Saturday (either is good at the moment, this may change depending on when things turn up.) Sunday means working around church in the morning, and a 3 hour drive back plus early bed for 5am wakeup for work...

I'm keen on any date.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Maybe so but you don't need a passport and you don't cross an international date line.willow13 wrote:well the drive from aucks to the tron is about the same as the drive from the city to the westie place isn't it??BG wrote:Is he moving to Hamilton or Auckland? Just curious
