Re: UPDATED Auckland Gearfest - November 17th
Everything The Captain said.
Except I brought an acoustic. It was removed from its case, given a 3 second play and promptly stuffed back again. They just can't hold a candle to an AC15.
The mix of jamming and making insane noise was fun, but most of all it was a social day. I liked that.
jvpp pulled out yet another immaculate Yamaha semi. I hate that everyone else discovered how good they are before I did.
Thanks guys, best possible way to spend a wet afternoon.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Well thank you, sir. I have fun with the limited amount I can play, that's the main thing.BG wrote: I thought your playing was pretty good, just lacking in confidence. Hit the note hard even f it's a wrong one. It it's wrong, bend it up and play it again .
I was totally going to bring my acoustic. Then I remembered, it's a gearfest.

I hope someone spotted the 12 to 52's on the ash, and the 2 and a half tone bend I hit at one point....
Yeah, I'm fapping with my left hand these days, it works

Re: UPDATED Auckland Gearfest - November 17th
It was an enjoyable gearfest and as mentioned, really quite a sociable one.
Way more chatting than playing this time, which is actually a good thing as there's some really cool guys on this forum and it was great to just hang out with everyone in real life, rather than the usual "Hey... what? Er, Danger Mouse... what? Um, 2.30, what? Nah mate, can't hear you? What?".

The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

I enjoy the chatting and actually getting to try gear, I played much more gear this time than I have before. Its always better to get people there though, then I don't have to come up with a wedge of cash lol...

Re: UPDATED Auckland Gearfest - November 17th
Mucho thanks to Capt & BG for putting this on.
Still a struggle to wake up before 4pm (work nights) but well worth it.
That Jansen of the Capt's was just too cool, loved it's responsiveness. From roaring to mild break up & cleans with the roll of the guitars vol knob. An od pedal would have taken it over the top
Single Coil:
Niiice pedalboard & Twin. I get the feeling you're quite an advanced player, was checking out your right hand.
Cheers for coming thru with the SG, she's a keeper
Getting to wind up some amps makes any dodgy weather irrelevant
Thank you all, I need better earplugs

Oh yeah! Tip for wowsers: I simply took two amps and had one set up in each room!
Great way to be able to drift between them and jam whenever and wherever.

That JTM is a weapon, especially with the SG going through it, everything that has ever been awesome about Marshalls is in that beast.BG wrote:yeah that sg sounded sweet. Yeah it has to be wound up high though. And pretty much anything that can get that high is awesome
Next time I might missapropriate the missus car and fit the bogner in again. It deserves to be cranked and it spends most of its life at 7 watts.... its such an awesome amp, I'm going to start a stadium rock band

I'm not particularly advanced. I got taught classical for about 6 months and hated it, really only took bad fingerstyle from it. Also I used to be a Knopfler fanboy so that should explain most of it.
