Hey y'all. Unfortunately there's no way we could do a Gearfest at our shop this time round, as we've been crammed full with 25 accoustic piano's from the old Piano House - there's just literally no room, as much as I'd love to have it there again. I suggest going back to the Elim option. Enter BBrunskill...

Sounds like a great idea. I have a gig in Taupo on the night of the 2nd so unfortunately there's no way I'd make it on that weekend. Would be best for me if it was after that weekend :)

Yeah, I agree... we'll never get anything organised in March.

When I had my own forum (USA-based - about 15 years ago) they'd have Hivefests in USA and twice we managed to get people here to hold one the same day and (this was before Skype), we'd telephone link. It was brilliant being able to do that. With Skype and a projector, it'd be stellar! Then of course a mass voice-only Skype session would allow members anywhere in NZ to join in on the day. Make it so!

Alright then, paging Mr Brunskill. :D

Any ideas on how we'd set up the Skype thing? Would require using up a decent chunk of someone's bandwidth right?

laptop or ipad(?), wifi connection at both ends.......It would only be linked for a few minutes i'm guessing so bandwidth wouldn't be an issue

I have a new addition or two since the last gearfest which I will bring along. Not fussed about a date as long as it's not this month.

All I have that's new is the Cool Cat Vibe, which replaced the Phase 90. In fact, I have less stuff than I did, because I had to sell Shirley, the Davy Stewart OM acoustic. People who work in guitar shops part time can't afford to buy guitar stuff, ironically.

I will be interested. Playing a gig with Gelato and Robnob on the 2nd. Not sure if we can tie in, or if indeed it wouldn't work. but it's a cool story none-the-less.
