Re: Auckland Gearfest 5th September...
Really looking forward to this gearfest. It's been a long time since the last one and a hard year for many so it feels like a kind of kick-start to a far more fun spring/summer.
As BG mentioned, I'm pretty excited to show off our new-old-new analog/digital recording set up. It's taking shape really quickly now. We've done some great sounding work already and there's quite a few more full production projects coming up. Hit me up if you're thinking about recording. I think it's a really comfortable environment to work in. Not posh and sterile at all. Just very.... Manor.
But I would say that. If you want a genuine and reputable opinion about the set up and how we work, ask Zorran.
But enough about me.
Simon, anything you want to bring along is welcome. Maybe you could get that hotrod on the road and park it out front for the day.
If anyone has ideas or suggestions for the gearfest, let me know. We'll try our best to accommodate everyone if at all possible.

Auckland Gearfest 5th September...
Man, that's fathers day! Can't disappear for most of the day on Fathers day. Hmmm. My second one. So I'm still new and keen.
Larrivee 00 Acoustic. FAV Strat for electric. Ibanez SDGR5 for bass. Push for Ableton. When not doing that, 3D CAD for tunnels...

6 would be when I'd about get there cos I'll be working til after 5 that day, but would definitely make the effort if it's likely to 'accidentally' carry on til 7 or later just cos y'all having such a great time. What are the odds of that happening, Capn and BG?

I think the key to "Father's Day" is in the first part of the name, I don't see the problem with sodding off for the day, it's YOUR day. On Mother's Day, Mother's can do what THEY want.KentNZ wrote:Man, that's fathers day! Can't disappear for most of the day on Fathers day. Hmmm. My second one. So I'm still new and keen.
If there's an issue, point out you don't want socks, brekkie in bed, a piece of cardboard with a trite message on it or any consumerist trinkets, you want a real present: Catch up with some mates, talk bollocks, show off your favourite toys, admire others toys and make heap big noise. Best of all, it doesn't start till midday at the earliest, so for brownie points you can give mum a sleep in too. Cheap pressie if you ask me, and the ideal therapy for the Father of a two year old.
Tin arse!!

At the kebab shop with some vegan friends the other night. They order felafel kebabs then ask what I'm ordering.
"I'm gonna get the chicken and pretend it's tofu."
