NGD: 1995 Gibson Studio

Late last week I picked up this thing and I'm pretty happy with it. Very, all things considered.

So I had to drive to Hamilton. Guy I purchased it off left it with his brother.

I rock up, all is awesome he hands the guitar... I look over it... THE NECK HAS HAD A BREAK REPAIR... this was not disclosed. So I'm standing in this nice family's home after driving for a couple hours... I applied quick math. The price I got it for, the repair is very good, the guitar was more of a mess then in pics but I can work with it..... fuck it I took it.

Really happy I did, it feels amazing and plays really well, it's note worthy.

This is my third Gibson, 2nd Gibson LP and I'm pretty stoked.

I spent my Friday night and Saturday morning extreme cut polish soak clean clean buff buff... was a mess but I guess that's why I like it.

Will keep it stock too..... I'm getting old.

Congrats man. But far out, the previous owner needs a boot for selling a guitar in such filthy condition. Some people have no shame - but you've spruced it up nicely.

Yeah I love the character. It's has chips and scratches, the lacquer is checked.... it looks cool enough for me.

The main thing is that I'm not afraid of adding more. Last LP I had was Robs old.. classic? I was scared on leving a mark on it.

Holy hell that scrubbed up well! Nice work, looks like it will probably be a decent one for the money. Can't believe someone would sell a guitar and not even give it a dust let alone a clean, some people aye. I'd have been pissed off if I drove out for a couple of hours to find out the seller hadn't disclosed a neck repair, so it's good to hear it all turned out okay in the end

If it sounds a little dull/dark this is around the time you'd fine 100k pots in Gibsons which knock off a lot of high end compared to the 500k they commonly use.

Nice! I've got Mal's old studio that's in similar nick (neck repair and all) and could basically be it's twin.

It's probably the guitar I play the most. I swapped out the pickups though for a Distortion and Pearly Gates. I should really check those pots.
