I don't think the poor girl deserves that label. Only 2 other lovers since I brought her back from the UK in 2010.

Realistically, with only 3 nzguitars owners, it's hardly even done the rounds yet

Congrats grant. That's my dream Ric btw ...cough dibs cough...
I've had a love for Ric's as long as I've lived guitars. Cut my teeth as a Beatles fanatic in my early teens. Later on albums like damn the torpedos and of ccr turned me on to Ric's even more so. Always remember my brothers 4001 he had for a time while gigging.

The Ric's I have now are a circa 2000 360/12 and a 330 (that you refretted).
What I notice about the 360/12 is that it's built like a tank compare to other electric 12s and I have barely had to tune it once.
The 330 is a special guitar. 1989 with all the patina of a circus urinal. I've actually just received creamery toasters to replace the hi gains so will post about that soon..
Cheers

Some good Ricky chat here

Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

I think our 360 has a better neck than most, more reminiscent of my 360/12 than other 360s I’ve played (which were all awful).

If you can let go of your paradigm of how much sustain an electric guitar should have and accept them as just a different fork of the guitar tree then there is great joy to be found in Rickenbackers.

Good timing for this thread. I recently bought a brand new 2018 360/6 in Mapleglo and it should arrive next week.

As in, you mean you’re breaking strings? All I did was ensure the break over the saddle was optimised. I used nut files to get the width correct. If you’re local to me I can look at it.

Used the 381 tonight with a flat boost to lift the output to match say, a normal humbucker. Shyte...so good through the Tupelo. Very happy regardless of my stupid buying timing. I need more “Danny” in my purchase process.

Play a Danelectro 59 beforehand and it all seems to make more sense. At least that was my most recent experience. Still, prices being what they are, its perhaps too far away from the familiar comfort zone to spend that amount on for a “new sound palette”. Then again, watching CCR videos always gets me thinking they could be way more versatile than commonly believed.
