It's back. Ash goodness.
In a convoluted series of events I met the guy who I sold a guitar to about 4 years ago. One that I had missed quite a bit, so when he said he'd be willing to sell it back I had to do it.
It's back!

Also, he had another gem which he loaned to me for a little while

The Heilo is just as awesome as I remembered it and the strat is super impressive.

That was Ash's personal guitar if I remember correctly?
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

I went in to see ASH and buy a Radian (Kloppsta’s LPJ one), and Adrian passed me that to try out while we were chatting. Neck is so good on that I left having paid a deposit on an Aurum instead.
Great guitar!
Great guitar!

I’m sure Ed brought that Helio to a Welly gearfest?
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

That's a lovely guitar, I had it on loan for a few days before Adrian sold it, it came down to CHCH for a gearfest with a couple of others I think. It started my love affair with Adrians guitars.
If memory serves me correctly the wood that the neck is made of gives off this amazing fragrance, in the same way cedar wood blocks or cinnamon stocks do (difference smell but similar organic qualities).
Great for you to get it back Mark

Yes the neck was finished with the oils from BG's butt crack

If it's the guitar I remember from the 'Fest, the smell is Spanish Cedar or Cedrella and it's truly lovely.

That sounds completely familiar now you've said it, and I guess I was closer than I thought when I said Cedar blocksTerexgeek wrote:If it's the guitar I remember from the 'Fest, the smell is Spanish Cedar or Cedrella and it's truly lovely.
You were the custodian of these fabulous guitars at the time if I recall correctly.

Sure was, unfortunately I was cash strapped at the time, but I got to see and play it and the Paulownia Radian Tele with the P90 in the neck.sty wrote:That sounds completely familiar now you've said it, and I guess I was closer than I thought when I said Cedar blocksTerexgeek wrote:If it's the guitar I remember from the 'Fest, the smell is Spanish Cedar or Cedrella and it's truly lovely.

Both would've been forever guitars!
