Doesn't seem like they have a whole lot of trouble selling them (because they do sell out in the end), these just aren't targeted to guys who buy Epiphones. They're probably not even marketed to guys who buy R9's...

Fender also make lots of eye-wateringly expensive guitars that don't look that much different to Mexican ones and they sell these just fine too.

If money was no object I would build a massive pedalboard, but instead of patch cables I would use Boss
wireless WL-20's, just to be a dick.
