Super well built. Very ergonomic. Lots of little features that scream “attention to detail”. Lovely round neck, very flat radius though. Pickups not to my liking, but god it’s a great piece of kit.
Very interested in Sterling CT50 and maybe an AX40, but they appear to be discontinued.
Unless I’m retarded, but let’s not rule anything out just yet.

I reckon the Cutlass is nicer looking than that horrible PRS John Mayer thing...that headstock..urgh. Being a strat guy you should give one a spin Molly.

All jokes about Silver Sky aside, I finally played one a few weeks ago and it sounded really good.Conway wrote:Get the PRS Silver Sky! Rockshop has one in stock.
It doesn't play or feel like a Strat though imo. It feels very much like any other bolt neck PRS - CE, SAS, that kind of neck profile. Except for the odd vintage radius thing.
And all the little changes they've made to knobs, switches etc to differentiate it from a Strat do seem a bit jarring because your brain basically is expecting Strat Strat Strat and just not getting it.

always amazed at the tone from the JP. not a fan of the sanded off bit.
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

Given the choice between a Silhouette and a Strat, I'd take the former. They're both classic designs, but the MM is made better and has a better neck.

Just bought this DVD from The Warehouse for $3 so I guess I'll get to hear one (for as long as I can stand it...).mrmofo wrote:always amazed at the tone from the JP. not a fan of the sanded off bit.

I didn't think much of the JP pickups in the one I had. The Crunch Lab seemed like it was struggling to actually crunch. Had quite a weird feeling to it, hard to explain.
Loving it so far
