I would say its more like .9%Frey wrote:https://www.trademe.co.nz/music-instrum ... 5124a34ec7
remember, once you have a decent guitar, the amp is 90% of your tone!
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

I dunno I sound way worse plugged in so how does that equate in numbers?!?!???Frey wrote:.9%? that's like less than 1%! no way! amps are at least 50% of the sound! the other 50% being your guitar and playing, your input signal.

why can a guy like Eddie Van Halen plug into any amp and sound like Eddie Van Halen or why do I sound the same regardless of what amp I plug into
If Less is More Then Just Think How Much More More would be

I have to agree. Talent is 99% of great sound. Good gear is awesome but talent is the main thing.

Re: Sweet Squier's...with questions...
I should maybe also note here, while technical ability is also considered a talent, it's not a talent that often relates to good songs. True talent on guitar is knowing how to service a tune, not how many notes a second you play or how lush your delay sounds.

Re: Sweet Squier's...with questions...
Man am I in for a long rocky talentless journey....stopped playing for a couple of years maybe more, still when I here those songs I wish I could play I can hear the Electric guitar calling me. It's like starting over for me.

Re: Sweet Squier's...with questions...
you will be fine, its that when you hear them and it makes you want to attempt playing them thats the important bit, its the bait that makes you practise, I find if I haven't got a list of stuff to tick off Im just noodling and wasting my time, funnily it went from the teenage wanting to learn vai GNR type leads badly to now being rhythm playing and wow is that much harder, you hear knopfler and need to learn better fingerpicking then its some elvis style chicken picking then its frusciante style chord triads, still haven't progressed enough to get that Jimi style little wing relaxed thing happening ,police songs with the stretches,GNR and Aerosmith rhythms are fantastic, page riffs annoyingly you keep hearing and adding new things to the list andy timmons, mike mccready theres not enough time in the day
