Hey all good played piano a little and gave that up too... haha. been hard out collecting vinyl and selling some off to buy a strat I was thinking a 15W 12" speaker as I will never gig and just wanna play shine on you crazy diamond......seriously!
Still go with the Katana, jb will bend your ear about them I'm sure. All the effects built in for shining on...

Nothing wrong with a squier.
Best value for money at the moment is SX if you can find one cheaply. I've had some crackers.
upgrades on squier should be easy with fender bits like better pick ups easy fit....the Classic Vibe looks pretty mean too nice pickups already in it.

Welcome back guy(s), good to hear from you.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

As a huge Gilmour fan, he uses so many effects you might as well play into a spider iv, the katana will do all his tones and anything else you wanna do for bugger all, then you have more budget to get a better guitar, which in they long run will be more beneficial!

I've just been watching you tube vids and looks like BG knows his stuff....The Boss Katana Looks very good for the money. $449 new at Rockshop. My style of music I want to play is mainly clean no gain or crunch or special effects.....still a good amp for that type of tone? and the Squier Deluxe looks real nice too. Hopefully one pops up secondhand soon.

I use my katana 50 pretty much exclusively on the clean channel, and use pedals for any effects. Sounds great imo. They pop up from time to time for around $350 on trademe.

The clean tone is fantastic! I have the 50W and it rules, used to use it only on clean with pedals now just using the amp and it's built in effects, really simple amp to dial in a great tone :)
