NGD
So, picked this up yesterday, cut the strings off gave it a levelling, fret dress, rounded fret ends etc etc. Slapped on the Stetsbar. Immediately it felt pretty damn good. Nice chunky neck to it! Pickups were a bit lacking though. Remembered I had my SE Santana zebras in a box somewhere so in they went earlier. Now its a bloody good player.
Even the stetsbar looks a bit less spastic on the tobacco burst! Got to say this is my 3rd SX and I'm constantly surprised at how good they are for not much cash. The levelling was literally a half dozen strokes (oh-err).
Its satisfied my GAS for crap upper fret access and a hernia !

Re: NGD
Is it just me, or the photo angle, or is that bar so high you have to leave orbit to grab it?

Re: NGD
It's a bit of both, it's all adjustable, but I've set it a bit higher so I can use my pinky on it . Usually it would be level

Here you go, I've adjusted it down so its level, you can put it anywhere though with those two grubscrews.

Re: NGD
SX never fails to surprise, the standard pickups weren't bad, but I figured the PRS SE ones would be better...Single coil wrote:That’s really cool.
It kind of reminds me of the Hondo LP a mate had back in the old days, that was a fucking good player too. Ratty as fuck but he made magic on it.
