I like the utility and barn door engineering of Fender. There isn't much you can't play on a Tele or Strat.

Fender are also the parent of Squire, Gretsch, Jackson, Charvel, & EVH brands. Just sayin'.

they also owned Hamer when they bought out Karman. they had the Hamer factory making the made in usa Gretsch guitars up until they killed it.
Fender are kind of annoying in my opinion. they make a few fantastic instruments and some that are just a waste of wood.
blimmin strings miss the pickup magnets on the bridge pick up, I mean Come ON! cant they even get that right, then they turn around and make something completely great.
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

Langcaster?
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

No votes for PRS. Early days but it maybe shows that some folk want character over quality.

Well, when you do don't base your opinions on that one guitar. They do a pretty wide spread. I'd like to try one from the S2 series but they never seem to pop up second-hand.

Yeah fair enough. I'm pretty keen to try one out, along with several other brands I've never tried haha

Patrick Eggle. Went to one of their guitar clinics when I was 13 or thereabouts and just thought what they were doing was amazing. Ridiculous attention to detail and I’ve always wondered whether they ended up giving PRS a few ideas that they decided to run with? One day I’ll hopefully get my hands on one.

When I finally played a PRS, a CU22 to be exact, I suddenly realised why people raved about them. Really, really nice to play and felt very comfortable in my hands. Unfortunately, every time I looked at it, my eyes fell asleep out of sheer boredom.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.
