How did you find the weight? Sounds like that's the consistent complaint?
I've seen a couple of these pop up on TM and the low price always surprises me. I actually quite like the look of the tele-like. Curves in all the right places etc.

I've often thought about getting a chapman, anyone tried the ghost fret? looks like it could be quite light....

I tried a Ghost Fret briefly yesterday. Seemed like a nice guitar, fit and finish was good, nice neck. Unusual neck joint, seemed to me like a neck through, but the owner was pretty convinced that it is a set neck. Seemed to play really nice too, but it had light strings and was dropped tuned to C, so for with my hamfisted playing style it was very buzzy to play. Sound was pretty tight and chunky with an Orange Tiny Terror.

prob similar to schecter,ltd et all where they use a "set thru".long tenon with a shaved down heel.

had a decent weight yeah - not too heavy though

I don't like explorer shaped guitars (no the jackson star isn't an explorer shape
) but man the chapman one is screaming awesome to me
