Ever tried a Chapman?
Saw one of the students sitting playing a Chapman this morning so went over to investigate. It was a thru-neck construction, Strat style thing with Tele shaped but pitched headstock. Had SD mini-humbuckers. He said it was a 'Pro' one that he'd bought new in Auckland recently for about $1,500.
It was too heavy for me by far (I'd have guessed at least 10lbs) but other than that I couldn't find fault with regard to fit, finish or hardware.
Anybody tried one?

Re: Ever tried a Chapman?
I had one too, an ML-3 Modern.
Was good. Heavy as shit (weight wise). Pickups were cool, but definitely ceramic which isn't my bag really. I only sold it as I needed to thin the heard and knew I could get the most money for it relative to what I paid

Avoid the Indonesian line and get one of the Korean ones. Otherwise get an Indonesian one and budget to have the frets leveled/crowned/dressed straight out of the box.

Not my cuppa but I thought for an 'out of the box' guitar, weight aside, it was fantastic value.

Re: Ever tried a Chapman?
I had the ML-3 Modern ex-Oldie.
I really rated it. Played well, great pickups and hardware. Superb build quality .
I only onsold it because the weight was crippling me to play standing up for long. A fair degree of regret in moving it on though.

Re: Ever tried a Chapman?
i used to own the ML-3 RC - which is the tele one in red with mini humbuckers
very hot pickups.
I really enjoyed it, thicker neck - amazing action and cheap as chips.
Their newer stuff is from a different factory with better Quality Control and their own hardware, electronics & everything..
I'd recommend the brand - I've found my home with Duesenbergs.. but I'd happily buy another to gig with.
