A comment of Oleg's got me looking at Manzer guitars, then D'Aquisto. All of them seem to be tied up in private collections or museums. This led me to Monterleone who is another great artisan. I was aware of the Four Seasons guitars but I'd never looked at them together. Close inspection apparently reveals them to be jewellery.

Knopfler got one and this song popped out. If I was the luthier, I'd be pretty chuffed.

The master. Both he and Manzer spent time learning with Jimmy D'Aquisto before his untimely passing in 1995.

Need to get this album..

All 4 guitars are at the Met, but I believe Knopler owns this one, or so google tells me.
