Re: For The Steinberger Fans
Really miss mine, wish I'd clung onto it. One guitar I regret losing
Are steinberger still owned by Gibson? If so the new spirits will be a typical gibson clusterfuck.

It's my travelling sanity, but I take it you mean your proper Steiny, not your Spirit.Bg wrote:Really miss mine, wish I'd clung onto it. One guitar I regret losing

Re: For The Steinberger Fans
Gibson would release them with headstocks and all the leftover e-tuners

Yeah I really miss my Rutherford had the full transtrem and everything. I still have a hohner cricket bat awaiting attention in the mancave of delights, but it was the whole graphite neck thing I miss.Terexgeek wrote:It's my travelling sanity, but I take it you mean your proper Steiny, not your Spirit.Bg wrote:Really miss mine, wish I'd clung onto it. Don't miss tracking down calibrated strings for the bugger!

They pretty much buried them for the last 8 years or so, even that would be an improvement.AiRdAd wrote:I was thinking exactly the same thing!jeremyb wrote:Gibson would release them with headstocks and all the leftover e-tuners

Re: For The Steinberger Fans
It makes sense. Refresh some models, get some press and some attention then sell the brand. It'll be worth more if it's seen to be active and healthy rather than inert and stagnant.

Re: For The Steinberger Fans
My understanding (and this goes back 15 years) is that Steinbergers as in their original Graphite Form will never be made again.
In fact it's possible the molds were actually destroyed in the Gibson buy out of Ned's company.
Pinch of salt ymmv
A wooden Steinberger isn't the concept of the original builder. If that makes sense in a non-judgmental way.
Gibson also own Tobias Bass so funnily enough the two most important bass builders post- Leo Fender have their names in some sort of entropy.

I agree, however the wood full body and graphite neck of the R series was such an awesome combination.foal30 wrote:My understanding (and this goes back 15 years) is that Steinbergers as in their original Graphite Form will never be made again.

Yeah still owned by Gibson, run them into the ground. They have a schenker inspired bat in the series, thats how I was going to do my hohner - they ripped me
