New Gretsch Day.
This is my first Gretsch.
Bought it because I'm playing in a Beatles Tribute band and I didn't have anything remotely suitable, so I got something extremely suitable. Will have paid itself off in a couple of gigs. Forgot to order the case though - D'oh! Gotta take this thing to a gig tomorrow in a gig bag. Augh.
It's an Electromatic (Centreblock, Korea) but it's pretty fkn gorgeous. Needed a set up and a few little tweaks, but playing and sounding great now, ideal for the Beatles stuff.

Erm, I’d be remiss to not ask, but is that a proper Gretsch?

You have a long memory man. Might be time to let it go. Lol.
These newer Electromatics are pretty dam close to the higher end ones though. This one has HiloTron pickups and is made from spruce.
The main thing is, it SOUNDS like a Gretsch, in my opinion some of the early Electromatics didn't so much. That's not to say they didn't sound good in their own way. But this one when I play Beatles stuff on it it really has THAT sound. Works especially well with my bandmates Rickenbacker.
I like that it's a center block so the tune o matic is fixed into solid wood. I might try a roller bridge for it though.
Now if we could just convince the bloody bass player to play a violin bass. Preferably left handed.
