Well that's worthy of note; Conway and Slowy agreeing on a guitar! This particular D18 is exactly what an old Martin should be. It expects you to hit it and rejoices when you do. There are instruments out there with greater subtlety but for sheer exuberance, this one can't be beat. I think it's an amazing guitar.

That's right. Conway was playing a 0017.

The whole incident is remarkable in a number of ways: Conway posts enthusiastically to the acoustic guitar thread(!) about enjoying playing an old guitar(!), that he likes(!) and it does not smell(!) Next, he will be buying guitars that begin with 'G'. Or perhaps that is going too far?

You never know! Take that Bigsby off the LP double cut and who knows what might happen...

There's a Martin in Keith MacMillans shop in Hamilton. It's a D-3r I think he said. He's fixed a bit that was lifting on the top. $1500 w a hardcase. It's a beautiful sounding guitar and has a pickup already installed...
Unfortunately I don't have a spare $1500, but it'd be well worth checking out if you're in the market.
