Sometimes it's not the one you want.
Long ago, I walked into a music store in Cuba St and met my first Duesenbergs. Was very impressed but they're way above my pay grade. I keep looking at them and dreaming. Molly's Outlaw Starplayer is my idea of Doozy perfection.
They also have the only wobble stick in the world I can live with.
This one recently came to visit me: No wobble stick
Clownburst. I hate clownburst!
Odd, look it has Filtertrons
Then I played it. It was immediate love. It's got a beautifully balanced tone. There's very few electrics I can fingerpick successfully without a compressor. This one I can.
I handed it to a mate with powerful chops and strong opinions, "Fuck that's ugly!"
Several minutes of intense wailing later he blinked, looked up and asked, "How long have I been playing this?"
It's that kind of guitar.
And thanks to the esteemed Mr. McNoleg and our successful negotiations, two years worth of birthdays and Christmas's have all come at once. This is actually a NGD post.
The latest member of Slowy's herd.
Chuffed, I is. Chuckling chuffed!

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

So glad this one has gone to a good home. A lovely guitar, and a rare one too.

Oh well, I got the EJ Strat back. That was a win. Now if I can just sell the CS Strat, I’ll be right.

I hear you, the trems on Doozys are the best part. Bet it's amazing though. You know a guitars good when it goes against what you think you want but still seems to call out to you

Looked this morning. Available on the Doozy website. Probably about $400 landed. Maybe sometime later. Will get used to it first but a useable wobble stick is pretty much the only thing missing from my guitar pallete now.Thewilltopowerrock wrote:Fuck that's ugly! Nice on Slowy, must be a good feeling.
