NGD Fender USA 62 RI jaguar Candy Apple Red matching headstock

Post by StrummersOfThunder »

As promised, a proper new guitar day post for a proper new guitar.

This is another rare bird.. all original including funcky string mute and terrible stock bridge. The serial places it from around 2000, and with the matching headstock it becomes another odd ball rarirty for the offset line as these are generally reserved for custom shop or MIJ fenders. Yamano in Japan ordered a special run of jags and jm's with matching headstocks, nitro finishes and were reputedly custom shop assembled. 50 were made of each colour (IMB, CAR, Shell pink, Olympic White and something else )

This one has CAR finish that has some orange peel, some battle wounds and the characteristic gold under coat showing in some places.

There is some medium fret wear on the lower three frets but other than that no issues. Set up great with 12-52 and a new mastery bridge.

Great buddy from the yomano jazzmaster...

It's a guitar that feels great in the hands thanks to the patina and the neck shape/profile

Cool. I've got a 62 AVRI Jag (not a thin-skin like yours tho', mine is nitro Black with Torty guard), my 2nd fave axe after my AVRI Jazzy

Yes I think I've seen a pic of that. Very nice guitar.
The thin skin is getting thinner by the day...
This jag has the feel of a great work horse. The jazzy does too, but feels a little more 'refined' for want of a better word. The jag feels tight, twangy and like it will rip your face off with the right amp and tank.

You guys could put your stuff together for an offset porn thread.

I’d read it.

Shit yeah.

Unfortunately I have no offsets. I mean my sg bass is sort of not symmetrical but that doesn’t count.
