Guitar strap recommendations?
I'm having a total mare finding a good, plain, nice black leather guitar strap. I prefer the adjustable ones like the levy MSS7G-BLK http://www.levysleathers.com/shop/basic ... mss7g-blk/ as opposed to the heavier leather straps that require to feed the strap through slots to adjust. But I just can't find anything in NZ!
Any recommendations?

Re: Guitar strap recommendations?
I hardly use my jazzmaster so after nearly 2 years of occasional use, it's still pretty much brand new!Kiwiaxe wrote:Thanks Si, they look cool - how do they feel and wear?
typical non-leather/upholstery vinyl, they're kind of stiff at first, but once I gave it a few months it started to soften up.
hasn't lost any colour or shape so thats mint.
all the stitching/workmanship really has been done well.
they're pricey but comparable to what you can buy locally - better value for money.

I didn't know that you had a jazzmaster Si. Give us some details and show us some pics please.

I have 3x couch straps. really nice, metal hardware, one of mine is maybe 5-6 years old and still looks new.

Re: Guitar strap recommendations?
I have this really cool-looking Fender strap with a 60s' style car seatbelt buckle. It's far too heavy to be of any use....
My other straps are all just thick leather and I wear them shiny side down so I can throw the guitar over my head 'Poison' style... LOL. Actually, it's just because I like the guitar to be able to move around. I also have Shaller straplocks on everything.
Finally, my guitars never leave the house and I almost never play standing up.

Re: Guitar strap recommendations?
I've been using couch guitar straps (seatbelt type) for around 7-8 years. Still going strong, no signs of wear. The metal buckle is good quality although more likely to cause dings than a plastic one. Very happy with them.

Re: Guitar strap recommendations?
Had plenty of leather straps over the years, but somehow all of my gats currently have cheap black Ernie Ball polypros.
Do the job, easy to adjust and no bling to bash my guitars finish.
