Re: Fender to cease using Rosewood
Lots of companies now only using it domestically or for the higher end stuff that's worth the paperwork.

Thats it, tone is now officially over. You can't have tone without Rosewood, everybody knows that.

Re: Fender to cease using Rosewood
Never fear, Line 6 are bringing out a maple necked Variax that models a rosewood fretboard.
However, being Line 6, it will sound crap.

Not certain how legit this is. A quick google finds no other source than this article.....written by a retailer and containing links to buy their rosewood-board Fenders.AiRdAd wrote:Don't know if this is true, but according to this article, Fender have decided to stop making guitars with rosewood fretboards

Re: Fender to cease using Rosewood
That's kind of what I thought too. They started the article off saying that Fender has announced it to the 'trade.' Which kind of indicates that it hasn't been released to the public yet. But even if they did release it to the trade, surely we'd have heard it from other sources within the 'trade.'handsoffmatt wrote:Not certain how legit this is. Re: Fender to cease using Rosewood
There's a lot of this sort of web rumouring going around at the moment. Only a small portion of it is true...for now... at some stage it will simply not be possible to get endangered wood on new guitars. Thankfully.

Re: Fender to cease using Rosewood
A little out of place in this but anybody here recently purchased a rosewood neck from Stratosphere and had any issues with it getting in the country? Still searching for maple neck with rosewood board, strat style headstock for my tele and can only find them there. Cant afford warmoth.
