Reccomended surf type guitars

Hi all


Having enjoyment at the mo with my clean channel with lots of herb oops I mean verb
And after some advice as to a nice guitar to compliment it as I have high gain types and fancy something with a bigsby ect
I'm just not sure what tho
I've clocked the gretches and the Godin on TM plus a guild has just popped up but I haven't a clue as to the quality ect
Never had a jazz master or a semi :oh:

I'd suggest something with single coils or filtertrons. Jazzmasters and Jaguars are great, lots of major surf players use strats, and Gretsches are fun too. Gretsches aren't great for the classic Dick Dale tremolo picking, but otherwise sound awesome.

You could do a lot worse than a squier jazzmaster or jag with a pickup upgrade.

Great guitars, but not hugely surfy (lack of tremolo). I really like them though.

P-90s aren't the best IMO. Hum buckers are a no-go. If you want to dabble, it'd be quite fun. Surf is all about the top end though.

Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...
