I reckon the search is half the fun. If I had a dollar for every bit of gear I have failed to buy that I should have bought I would have at least a few hundred dollars!

My worse buying decision was when I was 18. I purchased a 100 watt Marshall SLP (ex Robert Plant band no less) that sounded great with the Gibson SG Standard that I tried it with in the store. After the 150K trip home I realised it was the guitar that sound great, not the amp. Within a few weeks I also discovered that pub landlords do not like it when you deafen their customers!

Yeah. Really tempting, but the point of the exercise was to get some humbuckers. I have SC tones covered.

Long ago, I went shopping on 3 occasions to get a small bodied acoustic to compliment my rosewood Dreadnaught. All 3 times, I came home with another rosewood Dreadnaught.

I can be that kind of stupid.
I'm painfully familiar with this scenario.
