I have no craps to give. I'd go 6 saddle any day, not a huge fan of the 3 barrel ashtray. Ergonomically,I prefer the post-2012 American Standard to most Tele's to be honest, which every Tele purist hates.

Tonally - doesn't matter as long as the saddles are brass (if the 50's twang tone is important to you).
But the 3-barrel LOOK is so cool. Mine has a modern compensated 3-barrel. Wilkinson/Gotoh do something similar.

I'm all about the 3-saddle bridge myself. It's a big part of what I like about teles, but I totally get that it's not going to sizzle everyone's bacon.

What exactly is it that you dig about the 3-saddle bridge?

It smells like wee
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

I like the feel of it (a non-ashtray tele bridge feels wrong to me), the look of it and the sound of it (which is subtly different to 6-saddle barrel bridges- like subtle enough that I only really notice when I'm playing). I like the shape that barrel saddles give the note, and 3-saddle bridges seem to accentuate that shape a bit more. Most of this is based on the fact that all of the teles that I've enjoyed playing the most have had 3-saddle bridges.
Incidentally, a colleague of mine has a '66 tele with an original 6-saddle bridge here at work today. Bit of a treat.

Black limba back with a flame maple top, along with a purpleheart and spalted maple lamination in there. Neck is all maple. Wilkinson bridge, Grovers, Tusq nut, hot rail pups and concentric knobs on the wooden control plate so each pup has a vol/tone.

That Black Limba is a beautiful wood - better looking than the flame maple in my opinion...
Larrivee 00 Acoustic. FAV Strat for electric. Ibanez SDGR5 for bass. Push for Ableton. When not doing that, 3D CAD for tunnels...
