Well I must have a rare model as mine are attached to the p guard. and the 4 Tele p guards I have all come with the wholes for the neck pickup screws.

Weird. Neither my 52 or 62 reissues had neck pickup screws in the pickguard.

All reissues don't have them. That noncaster vibe thing. Current standard models have them.

Yes, as you have now noticed, the older models had the pickup screwed into the body and no holes in the pickguard. After a while, people complained that the neck pickup was too difficult to adjust compared to a strat, so the modern models come out with pickguard mounted neck pickups.

ever noticed how reading lyrics
is easier because of the format it's written in
