Has anyone seen/played one?

...a Fender Elite, I mean. Not an Elite strat or tele, but a Fender Elite - as used by Robben Ford (and then became the Robben Ford signature model). Symmetrical cutaways, two humbuckers... I'll post a pic if I ever find one online. Just wondered (a) if anyone has seen one, and (b) what was it like? Robben Ford certainly gets an absolutely amazing tone out of it - but I think he'd get a fantastic tone out of a rubber band on a stick

Hmmm - can't even find a pic on robbenford.com - it seems he's playing Bakers now - never even heard of them

He's been playing Bakers for a while, very nice guitars... until the whole Ed Roman thing.

I'm afraid so. :puke: It wasn't a particularly amicable sale unfortunately, if my memory serves, but with Ed Roman involved I'm not surprised.

Gene Baker went on to work and design for Ernie Ball.

Lawsuits - bah! There're only so many different ways a guitar can look, and still be appealing to most people.

This Ed Roman guy seems to crop up everywhere - and everywhere people seem to get pissed at him.

Some of the crap Roman spouts about 'HIS' Baker models is unbelievable. The man is a total brothersucker.

Sadly it seems he makes wads of cash through slamming quality guitars for the promotion of his own...

Jesse James seems to be a good comparison.... except with charm
