Dean Guitars

Post by Rog »

I was browsing TradeMe and found a cheap amp and since I don't recall the name Dean I did a little research and found that they produce quite a few guitars and things..

Anyone here used one?

Nope - I think ZZ Top had quite a few Dean guitars around the Eliminator/Afterburner period, which they used live, and in videos.

Of course, that depends on my memory being accurate, which is a bit dicey :?

Ah - you mean my ex-car. Yesx that's right, Tsuken no longer has the whale. I have another silver Nissan - this one a Primera wagon, which won't gobble up so much petrol, nor fail wof for a loud exhaust and pillar-mounted gauges  See? I am getting old :? I guess now I just need a straw hat and a cardigan to wear when I drive. :P

However, the whale reference comes from Skylines Downunder, where the R33 Skylines (the model I had) were nicknamed whales because of their weight. They actually don't weigh that much more than the previous model, but it stuck. 8)

A mate of mine - a coachbuilder by trade - had built these whale bits for some bizarre reason, and he slung them to me to take pictures of my car with them on. 8) I still have them in the garage too, as he's never taken them back. :?

I've played a Dean Dimebag model before which was damn ugly but a dream to play.

Michael Angelo plays Dean, and that's good enough reason for me to want one :)

Don't worry mate, it's not an age thing. He's the sort of guitarist that only 0.1% of the population would probably have heard of  He's a stupidly fast guitar player (he may actually be a robot, I'm not quite sure...) that most people would just say is all flash and no substance.

But I think he's pretty good :)

He has a cool double neck guitar (which he can play both at once) and he gets all the chicks

 He's something different from the rest of us, that's for certain.

I wonder if he's as 'fast' with the chicks as he is when playing the guitar... ;)

ya, Michael Angelo is what a musician does not want to be.

him having a dean is a good enough reason for me not to want one :)

he is fast to the point where it is just stupid, he can play leftie and rightie and he can play 2 necks at once.

he also runs a scale faster then anyone else in the world.

he released a couple of cds, consisting of, a very good way my friend put it, instrumental masturbation.

else...he is really funny to watch in the speed kills video.

Sure sounds like he's one special talent.

Just maybe not for everyone's taste?
