The tele body is getting a new coat of lacquer on the top because the old lacquer was a bit rough.

The other body is an Ash Aurum. Basically a cross between a '54 LP and a PRS. Will be a gold top with cream P90s and a stoptail bridge.

Looking good, mate.
How is the binding applied?
Is it a plastic strip?

Yep, the binding is a 1mm strip of plastic (or celluloid in this case) which is glued into a rebate around the edge and then scraped flush.

It does make a difference with a flat edge, doesn't it.

Give a nice finish imo.

Here is the Aurum with its neck in place for the first time. Looks a bit odd being all square with the flat fretboard surface. I think this will be better than I expected for a prototype.
