Maybe Mc and Spike have rubbed off on me. I normally try not to get too involved in these kinds of discussions either. This one just seemed to jump out and bite me. It still does. Even more so than when I first started talking about it. The more people try to defend Gibson the more convinced I am that it's wrong and that they should somehow be reprimanded for it. I'm just too tired of it to keep arguing about it. I must say though, that I am genuinely confused, startled and even maybe a bit saddened by the reactions I've been getting. I never would have thought musicians, of all people, would think that way.
Oh well, learn something new every day.

Damned straight. me neither. I'm way too close to them already. I can't imagine the horror of actually living there. It always amazes me how the mythological Land of the Free keeps attracting the poor and impoverished from other nations. Like they're actually gonna find happines there. Poor deluded bass turds.

"The worst possible insult you could apply to a Kiwi would be to say we think like Yanks!!"
That guy the other day, who was interested in stuu's amp, and wanted the price in US dollars!?
That really pissed me off, I was going to reply, but I seemed to be unable to cut and paste at all, so after about 5 tries I gave up.
I mean "In US dollars please? I don't know what NZ dollars are! I'm so confused <tear> " *
Grrrrrr!
May be a slight exaggeration, but it's how I remember it.

Oh, I mentioned that to a Yankee once on a private muso bulletin board. I worded it something like this: "You Americans think that you are the centre of the universe, well you're not, you know..."oh well what do you expect, they think the world revolves around them
Oh, man.. what a torrent of verbal abuses I received that day, let me tell you. Three or four of them ganged up on me. I can't remember all the stuff they said but what sticks out most in my memory was, "We ARE the universe! You insignificant little flea!" Or words to that effect.
Yep. We Cannucks have a long standing joke:
Q: How many Americans does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Only one. He just holds onto the bulb and waits for the world to revolve around him.
