Today I want a strat. No one has strats anymore.

Stuff to desire, unlikely to attain anytime soon.

- Like Ash, a LP double-cut, packing p90's, or an SG Junior again with the p90 singlies.
- 70's Telecaster Custom or Deluxe, or any form of Telecaster with humbuckers/coil tapping.
- Old Ibanez Strat copy from the 80's, a lot of the single p/u ones pack Seymour Duncan Super Distortion humbuckers!
- Some decent acoustic, probably a Maton.
- Jazzmaster/Jaguar/Mustang or Bronco, some non Strat/Tele Fender gat!
- Eventually, a custom model via Ash.

I'd like a Taylor 954CE limited edition 12 string acoustic. The one with the flamed maple binding.

I'd also like a Custom Shop Fender Thinline (chambered) Telecaster with a curly maple top in a golden brownish transparent. The body should be bound top and bottom with walnut. The neck will be bird's eye maple in the standard C shape, jumbo frets. Just the Fender logo for markings like a nocaster. The headstock should be the older, smaller style. The back of the guitar will have a three piece (acoustic style) veneer of Mexican coco bola with walnut strips separating the 3 pieces. The main part of the body will be alder, of course. The dot markers will also be coco bola and the markers on the edge of the neck will be of cubic zirconium so I can see them on a dimly lit stage. Bridge plate is American Standard in nickel. It should have a Texas Special at the bridge and a SD Pearly Gates at the neck except (since we're dreaming here) Seymore will have to come up with a Pearly Gates with nickel covers. Scratch plate to be standard Thinline shape but in an off white, yellowish vintage colored moto. Also I want chrome Schaller locking tuners, even though there's no trem. Schaller strap locks as well. Just the standard molded case that comes with the new American Fenders will be fine. It's a really good case but I would like it to have two more fasteners on (the loop and hook kind) it for security.

What would that cost me Ash? Rog's first born?

Zakk, you haven't started anything yet. You have to actually make an insult first. Cardboard and rubber bands? That's totally awesome compared to plastic EMG pickups with samick for tone.

Well, the cardboard box must be a box of Cottonsofts, because I think you'd be hard pressed to find a more comfortable *anything* than a strat.

Yoda, I have a nickel covered Pearly Gates right here. (Unless Ash has been lying to me). I think that just because it doesn't come with a cover doesn't mean that you can't put one on.
Ash, how can I take them off? Just to try it out?

Hmmm. Never saw a Pearly Gates with a cover before. Was always told they don't come with covers.

The PGs don't come with covers, but you can buy covers separately and fit them.
Greg, I think the PG is the bridge one isn't it? The neck is a '59?

If you want to take it off you need to melt and suck out any solder between the cover and baseplate with a solder sucker then gently and evenly pull the cover off. I can't remember if those were both on soldered or not.

And his P-bass...
And maybe the rolex :D

Can do all those things, and can do better too. And you'd have some serious change left over from the PRS, probably...

Haha! ;)

That wasn't the main reason, but I knew it would be a possibility!
The main reason was that I had just had a slew of requests for black LPs and I had to know if everyone was as unimaginitive...

OK Ash, just out of curiosity have you ever shipped one of your creations across the globe before? Any idea what the shipping costs would be? What is the NZ dollar worth these days against the Yankee greenback? Any financial wizards out there who might know of web sites with currency exchange rates? I wouldn't mind exploring this idea just to find out. You never know....

BTW, I take it my dream guitar was more imaginative than a black LP?
