haha, user error was referring to the comment that "Pro Tools is shit", not me putting in a bad link or something.

Haha. Curious to know what you don't like about it.

Intuituve, easy to use, the most "analog" of the DAW's, stable, industry standard.....

yeah me too Timi.

With some of the other systems I feel like its the software thats making the decisions...or at least only giving me a short list of possible decisions to choose from.
With PT I always know whats happenning and why, and if I want to apply process x to a track (with parameters y & z) then I do that....

I could get all flamey and say things like:
PT is the best tool if you can actually play an instrument, and understand sound and recording, and understand MIDI.

but that would be provocative :D

To Each Their Own!..................hey that makes a good acronym TETO!

What would be the best option if you LOVED the now defunct Tracktion?
I adored the interface but hated that you never knew when it was about to crash...It crashed during a big save once...I nearly cried. I'm thinking seriously of going logic express + apogee duet if I'm rich/presonus inspire if I'm poor (more if I can bear spending the money on that stuff instead of a new guitar

I thought they fixed the stability issues? I'm guessing one of the closest would be (yawn again) Live or maybe acid?

How about an interface under $500? 2 channels + firewire?
