HNAD x 2
Trip into Christchurch today to collect the amps. Thanks to Dany for driving across town with the Katana to meet me. Much appreciated. Also thanks to Danny for the heads-up on the '75 Bassman.
Got to the guy's house to collect the Bassman and was greeted by a nice old chap who explained he'd bought the amp new in 1975. He gave me an accompanying booklet with original tags, warranty card, schematic etc. Also came with the original cover (like new). He took a moment to explain the stand-by switch and that the amp has to warm up before you can use it. He used to play the organ through it. Doesn't look like it's ever left the house. Here's a few pics:

For anybody that didn't follow the auction, it was listed under Bass Amps. I got it for $1,010.

LOL. It is heavy for sure. But more awkward than anything else with just the one handle.Jellybelly wrote:Winner on the Fender. How many hemorrhoids popped getting it in the car?

Re: HNAD x 2
probably original and is also in good shape. $1k is a steal. A good one in USA fetches $1k USD. Ex's daughter in Michigan has something similar and it sounded very good. Was a Silverface Fender bass amp with a 15" speaker that needed replacing. Quick google says early models of this amp have either JBL or CTS speaker. I have never heard of CTS speakers tbh.Molly wrote:For anybody that didn't follow the auction, it was listed under Bass Amps. I got it for $1,010.
This one on YT breaks up okay:

I just kept going on YT until I found one that justified the purchase... LOL. There were plenty of demos that sounded crap.

Ha, that's so pristine you could sell it to Joe Bonamassa. I've gear that's never left the house from new that looks positively relic'd by comparison.

Re: HNAD x 2
I would have bid $1500 for it, if it were in Auckland, and it would have still been a steal at that price. For $1010 this is the best deal I've seen in awhile on TM.kdawg2a wrote:I'll give you $1200 for it.
