New Old Fender Day!

Post by bender »

This is the smelly old brown thing that caused my big selloff- 1973 Fender Tele Custom in a fetching shade of poo-brown.

I've been lusting after this particular guitar (or one just like it) for a long time now and it's finally mine*! ALL MINE!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

It's so much fun.

*technically an alternate fact- I haven't quite finished paying for it... but not far off.

I remember that from a gearfest. There was some speculation as to exactly where it had been stored.....
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

You like those, eh? You used to have a black one with the Strat type headstock, IIRC?

Yep. It was a reissue of one of these. Same headstock but black and with a rosewood board.

Nah- this is the configuration I prefer. I utterly love tele bridge pickups, and this one is a corker.

Twigs... is that a euphemism?

Was that Grant's Tele ?
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

It was - Ben confessed his love for this a number of years ago. It's such a great sounding guitar.
