Re: Strymon Riverside
I'm currently using a Tumnus and will using that and Tony's Bronson
I feel like these 2 achieve what I want. - the Strymon would have applications - but I totally agree with what I've been reading online.
the general consensus is "why did strymon even bother"

but the logic and pricepoint of it put me off.
$300 usd for a drive pedal that isn't really anything overly new.

Re: Strymon Riverside
I think the format, size and 9v supply are a plus, especially if you run an amp with clean headroom. Most tube preamp/overdrive pedal are big, heavy and need funny power supplies. This is your rhythm and lead in one package.

Re: Strymon Riverside
totally - knowing Music Planets terrible strymon pricing (Strymon being the Apple of the guitar pedal world) the pedal is likely to cost $550 here new..

Re: Strymon Riverside
I really like the concept but it does sound pretty much the same on all the settings they show with a bit more or less gain. Could be completely different in person but apart from features/functionality it hasn't got my GAS going yet. Would like to see some other demos from different people to see what sounds they achieve? The fav switch and extra 6db boost via the exp footswitch means it could be a complete solution though!

The Dude will do everything I can hear that doing and a load more. Feckin' love that pedal. Just wish the Deep and Ratio controls could be connected to swivel pedals.

Re: Strymon Riverside
Despite being a fanboi, and really loving many of the tones in there, I did find myself thinking - I have some top drives now - SURELY I can get sounds as good as that from the great pedals I already have.
But ooo Strymon. Shiny. New. Yellow!

Larrivee 00 Acoustic. FAV Strat for electric. Ibanez SDGR5 for bass. Push for Ableton. When not doing that, 3D CAD for tunnels...

Re: Strymon Riverside
Also. Don't forget, favourite switch. Means it's really TWO top end boutique drive pedals in one.
