They're the only delay I'd be buying new at the moment, just get one. The builder is a member here of course. Mysterious J.
The units he built for me were mn3005 versions.

Random linkage from looking at that Silver Duke...

What the..? Just... what? Why would you let Michael Stipe and Jimmy Fallon sign that? And then give it away in a raffle? As 4th prize?!? I feel I am missing something here...

Me too
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Also, state of the fuzz nation.

A few very exciting 'new' additions: the rather tatty looking yellow Tone Bender is an epic 1973 vintage number... most precious... The Foxey Lady is from 1975 and is basically an OEM Ram's Head Big Muff. Bit Gilmourish for my tastes, but cool in a collecty way. The Roland BeeBaa is very recent and it is all kinds of Japanese crazy goodness. And finally, the largish black box at the far right of the 2nd row is a Dizzy Tone clone - like a Burns Buzzaround but even more full on. Most excellent.

Or the start of a business.

How much to rent the Ophidia and the Hoof?
I have been pondering something like this - not a business, but a service. If anyone fancies borrowing any of these pedals, I'd be happy to oblige. All I'd ask is that you cover postage both ways, and if you break it, you bought it. Also, I'd probably limit it to forumites who have been around a while - say 100 posts minimum - or have someone who can vouch for them.

Maybe we could turn it into some kind of thing? I'd love to have a blat on an old Memory Man...Or a Gunn Tone Bender...

(And sorry J, I foolishly sold the Hoof - it is actually the best muff-with-mids pedal I've tried - and the Ophidia doesn't leave my board...other than for the occasional photo op.)

Ha! The Junior of course. No joke either. The 64 Special is very close in terms of tone. But the playability of the Jr makes it the one.

The middle one is a CS '61 RI and is very, very tasty too. But old wood man... can't beat that shit.

Has the rotosound found a new home?

Also, the junior is my favourite of yours too, the '64 special is a close second though. :)

Er, no. Not quite - it is a new D*A*M/Sola Sound one. Very nice, and has the advantage of not being worth the price of a deposit on a house in Auckland. One day though, one day...

How do you rate the Maestro? I love that range but my experience is restricted to the Phaser and the other fuzz (after this one)

Sadly yes. Another victim of the great fuzz-letting of '16. That, my red Foxx, and the Univox Super Fuzz are pretty sorely missed. Seemed necessary at the time...

Damn it Mal, I love all the things you have.

That Ophidia too...all sorts of magic can happen when you have a perfectly on spec ultra rare yellow jacket Mullard OC44.
Exceptionally nervous times building that wee beauty and now it depresses me because I'm unlikely to make another that's at that level of perfection.

Not as highly as I thought I would, I have to say. It is a little too well mannered. I think the Phaser is the stand out of that range - I would love to get hold of one of them. Is the Fuzztain the fuzz you mean? The one with the big knob in the middle? I haven't tried that, but clips sound very good, and I suspect it has the extra gear I'm missing in my one. My other Maestro (the FZ-1S Fuzz Tone) is super cool - I rate that one very highly.
